Day 39

As men, it is important to acknowledge the inevitability of death and prepare ourselves to face it with stoic resolve. Choosing to die well means approaching death with intention and courage, and not waiting until it is too late to make the necessary preparations.

We must be at peace with our mortality and take steps to ensure that we leave behind a legacy that we are proud of. This means taking care of our physical and emotional health, making arrangements for end-of-life care, and being a positive influence on those around us.

Waiting too long to make these choices can have serious consequences, and may rob us of the opportunity to die with honor and dignity. So let us embrace the idea of memento mori, and use it as a reminder to live each day with purpose and intention, so that when our time comes, we can face death with the same stoic resolve that has defined our lives.

  1. What does choosing to die well mean to you personally? How do you want to approach death, and what steps can you take to make that a reality?
  2. What legacy do you want to leave behind? How can you live your life in a way that reflects your values and beliefs, and how can you ensure that your influence will continue after you are gone?
  3. How do you think about mortality and the inevitability of death? Are there any particular beliefs or practices that help you approach this topic with courage and acceptance?
  4. Have you ever experienced the death of a loved one? How did that experience shape your perspective on mortality and the importance of choosing to die well?

Farewell and best of luck.
