Memento Mori Journal #20
Day 20 — Trials and Tribulations
The human experience is often fraught with challenges and difficulties that test our strength and resilience.
It is through these trials that we can be refined and polished, much like a raw gemstone cannot achieve its full potential without friction and pressure.
In the face of the ultimate challenge, death, we can choose to embrace the concept of memento mori — the reminder of our own mortality — to live with greater purpose and intention.
Instead of shying away from the topic, we can confront it head-on and use it as a motivator to become the best versions of ourselves.
To do this, we must let go of our egos and focus on what truly matters in life.
We must shed petty grievances and grudges and work towards living a life of integrity and purpose.
This requires strength and resilience, the kind that can only be built through overcoming adversity and hardship.
In the end, the trials and tribulations we face can help us to become the men we were meant to be.
By facing our fears and confronting the reality of our own mortality, we can become more focused, more driven, and more determined to make the most of the time that we have.
We can work towards leaving a lasting legacy that reflects the strength and resilience we’ve gained through our struggles, and inspires others to do the same.
- Which trials, if you were to willingly face, would drastically improve your life?
- Why have you been delaying them? How does it feel when you think of attacking them?
- How would your life improve?
- How can you begin attacking these trials?
Farewell and best of luck.
